Welcome to 2012! A year that will bring our family more love with a new little boy and new challenges. We are nearing 5 more weeks until the due date and I'm getting more and more eager to see and meet this sweet baby. At my appointment last week the doc said he will probably come before the due date. He is already measuring big. I was just over 33 weeks along at the time of my appointment and I was already measuring 35cm. The doc is predicting he'll be at least as big as Jillian at 8lbs. I go in again next Tuesday so we'll see how things are changing. I haven't had much swelling in my ankles until this past weekend. It has now begun. I've been having more and more Braxton-Hicks. If I remember correctly from my experience carrying Jillian, that means things are moving towards labor but hopefully not for a few more weeks. But just in case he decides to speed up the process, I have a friend that is on call to take Jillian until family can arrive.
Both Garrett's and my work have calmed down a bit from the past few months of being very busy. I number of projects I've been working on have either wrapped up or are almost complete. That makes for smooth sailing for the next month or so according to my supervisor.
Garrett spent all of last evening repairing our dishwasher. After Jillian went to bed I was around to help when he needed a towel or tool. The bottom of the dishwasher had not been draining properly and with the last load of dishes we ran, there were still particles all over everything. So he pulled the washer out and found that the waste line leading to the disposal was almost completely blocked with nastiness. Yuck. After getting that cleaned out and the washer put back in place, he leveled it and ran an empty cycle and it now drains. Hurray for my Mr. Fix It! He's so great!
Huntley hasn't been feeling the best in the past few weeks. He vomited a handful of times with a week and was a bit lethargic. We took him to the vet last week and they ran a full blood panel and took xrays. Everything looked good. The vet prescribed a GI anti-inflammatory and an antibiotic. He almost vomited again this past weekend and he still isn't eating all of his food. When he does eat well, he takes 5-10 minutes to eat which is unlike him. The food doesn't smell rancid and it's the same brand he's been on for almost two years. We aren't sure what's going on but hope he gets over this soon.
Take care!
